How people agree to these texts
2nd Ward EQ — the elders quorum presidency of the St. George 2nd Ward. Evidence of consent for A2P 10DLC registration.
1. On the web form
The form is at https://sg2ndward.org/join. It asks for a name and a mobile number, and it cannot be submitted until this box is ticked. The box is never ticked in advance.
Below the button the form reads: “Read the terms and the privacy policy. Questions: sg2ndwardeq@gmail.com.” Agreeing to the texts is the only purpose of the form; it is not a condition of anything else.
2. In person or by telephone
Where a brother is asked face to face or on the telephone, this is read to him word for word:
“May I add your mobile number to the quorum's text list? It is up to 8 messages a month from the elders quorum presidency about quorum meetings, activities and service projects. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to end them, or HELP for help. Do I have your permission?”
Only a clear yes is accepted. Whoever asked then records it, and cannot save it without confirming that the words above were read and agreed to. The record keeps the number, the name, who took the consent, the date and time, and that it was given verbally.
3. The first message everyone receives
Welcome to 2nd Ward EQ, texts from the elders quorum presidency of the St. George 2nd Ward about meetings, activities and service projects. Up to 8 msgs/month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
4. Stopping
STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT and CANCEL all end the messages at once, whether they were agreed to on the form or in person. HELP returns help and the contact address. No message is ever sent to a number without a consent record.
